It was the first full squad workout for your 2015 Philadelphia Phillies.

But for the first time in 15 years, Jimmy Rollins was not present listening to a Phillies manager address his team.

Even Chase Utley admits it's not the same without J Roll.

"It's definitely going to be different. When I came up, Jimmy already had a few years in the big leagues. He taught me a lot. He helped me out. I thought we made each other better," Utley said.

The longest double play combination in history is over, but now Freddy Gavis has a chance to play short, where Rollins once stood.

Galvis, who only hit .176 last year, says he does not feel the pressure to live up to the former MVP.

"I think I don't have to fill nobody's shoes because I have to do my game. Jimmy was a different game. Jimmy was a speedy guy. Jimmy was good, a good player, but I have to do my game," Galvis said.

"Obviously, we've seen him play defense, he's pretty amazing. He makes everything look very easy. I will try to help him out as much as possible. And who knows, maybe he can help me out a little bit, too," Utley said.

Sandberg, Schmidt, & Brown

Ryne Sandberg did not think the Phillies clubhouse was conducive to winning last year, so the focus of the manager's speech Tuesday was to turn that around.

"I told them that I learned some things last year. I think everybody in the room who was here last year learned some things, so there are some adjustments there to bring some togetherness to the locker room," Sandberg said.

Dom Brown was among the players who felt the Phillies were not on the same page last year. But in 2015, Brown hopes to turn the page personally, as well after hitting just .235, only one starting left fielder was worse.

"I had some struggles in May that put me in a downward spiral, but I picked my head up," Brown said.

Brown is working with Mike Schmidt in camp.

Last summer, the hall of famer gave him advice right before an at bat and Brown went out and hit and home run.

"I think it was nothing but luck actually that I happened to speak to him before that at bat. Coincidental," Schmidt said.

"I have a lot of fun with Mike Schmidt for sure, but we've got another hall of famer in Ryne Sandberg, too. I'm just tipping my hat to both those guys and trying to pick their brains as much as possible," Brown said.
