PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- ACCT Philly helped police officers take care of four dogs that were left in hot vehicles at Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia last weekend.
Police gave the owners citations after ensuring the health of the animals.
ACCT reminds pet parents that they should never leave animals in a hot car, even if just for a few minutes.
"It could be 70 degrees outside, and a car could heat up to 100 degrees within 20 minutes," said Mikayla Allen, ACCT Communications Coordinator. "And dogs, as well as children, can't regulate their body heat as adults can, so that can lead to heat strokes."
