
WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Wednesday marks the beginning of the Statewide Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Delaware.
Nearly 600 members of law enforcement from across the state will carry the 'Flame of Hope' over the next two days.
The run spans multiple legs from Fenwick Island to Wilmington in honor of the athletes.
Wednesday, officers left the New Castle County Police Department and continued down Kirkwood Highway.
This is the 40th year for the torch run.
