
NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- The Special Olympics Summer Games are officially underway in Delaware.
More than 700 athletes are experiencing the thrill of competition this Friday morning at the University of Delaware's athletic complex in Newark.
The Action Cam was on the diamond this morning for a softball game and indoors for some bocce.
Other events this weekend will include tennis, power-lifting as well as track and field events.
This is the 55th year for these summer games in Delaware.
It's all made possible with the help of more than 1,000 volunteers.
