Man killed after being struck in hit-and-run on Schuylkill Expressway EB
Police are asking for help identifying the victim, as well as the striking vehicle.
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run on Interstate 76 early Thursday morning.
It happened just before 3 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near the Spring Garden Exit in Philadelphia.
When police arrived, they found the man lying in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Schuylkill Expressway SB was shut down for several hours during the morning commute as police investigate the crash. It has since been reopened.
Police are asking for help identifying the victim, as well as the striking vehicle.
The victim is believed to be a man between 18 and 25 years old, according to police.

A woman was also struck on the Vine Street Expressway early Thursday morning.
It happened about a half mile away at 1:30 am. in the eastbound lanes between the exits for 23rd Street and Broad Street, according to police.
Police did not say why the victim was in the roadway at the time.
She was conscious when she was transported to the hospital and the van that hit her stayed on scene.
Another woman was also struck in a hit-and-run on I-95 near Walt Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue Exit Wednesday night.
The woman was found lying in the roadway on I-95 southbound around 10:30 p.m.
She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Officials say the woman lost control of the car and crashed into the median multiple times, disabling her vehicle in the left lane. Then, when she got out, she was struck by another vehicle.
