Artist turns Philly sports moments into viral works of art

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- From brick to brushstroke, Dhwani Saraiya is painting Philadelphia into the cultural spotlight, often where art meets sports.

Saraiya's work transforms iconic and viral sports moments into a gallery of Philly pride, beloved by fans and even professional athletes. Her Etsy shop has racked up more than 17,000 sales, with customers eager to own artistic snapshots of Philadelphia sports history - or plays unfolding in real time.

Her art has made its way from online storefronts to stadium walls. A mural-sized piece featuring beloved Phillies players now decorates Citizens Bank Park, capturing the energy of recent seasons and the city's sports culture.

Saraiya's work has also caught the attention of Philadelphia's sports stars, including Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

"There was actually a drawing I did of the two shoes last year that just went super-duper viral," Saraiya said. "I posted it at the end of the game, and it just kind of blew up. And then... his agent saw it."

When asked how it feels to get recognition from professional athletes, Saraiya responded with a smile: "It's crazy! Yeah, I see it. It's cool. And, like, he actually posted that two-shoes drawing on his account. That was crazy."
