PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Lindsay Archer painted this backdrop for Phillies fans, but little did she know it would frame her own love story.
Archer won a competition to have her artwork featured at Citizens Bank Park.
Her winning piece became the perfect setting for a surprise proposal when her fiancé, Jake, got down on one knee.
"He's the one who really got me to do this contest and really push myself," Archer said.
She submitted her design earlier this year as part of the SEI-Phillies mural contest. The theme: connecting communities.
Archer earned what she calls the opportunity of a lifetime: to paint a large-scale mural at the ballpark that showcases the best of Philadelphia.
"I just thought to bring together all the different buildings, and I wanted to incorporate the flowers and the vines, like, connecting everything together," she said.
Winning the contest also meant throwing out the first pitch at Citizens Bank Park and receiving a large check.
But the added hardware from her surprise proposal was the icing on the cake.
Her mural will remain on display through the end of the regular season and into the Phillies' playoff run, giving fans a chance to see a piece that marks both a professional milestone and a personal moment.
