Tun Tavern, widely regarded as birthplace of Marine Corps, to be rebuilt in Philadelphia's Old City

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The U.S. Marine Corps marked its 249th Birthday in Philadelphia's Old City on Sunday.

They also held a special groundbreaking.

An authentic reproduction of the Tun Tavern will be built on South 2nd Street between Market and Chestnut.

The original tavern is widely regarded as the birthplace of the Marine Corps.
