Barricade situation comes to 'safe conclusion' after lengthy standoff in Riverside, NJ

RIVERSIDE, N.J. (WPVI) -- A man is in custody after an hours-long standoff in Burlington County, New Jersey.

Police responded to the 600 block of Bridgeboro Street in Riverside around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived, they encountered an armed, barricaded man, police said.

The man was eventually taken into custody around 10:40 a.m., after a lengthy standoff and unsuccessful negotiations.

Officials say the incident came to a "safe conclusion."
