Swifties line up for midnight album release of The Life of a Showgirl

SPRINGFIELD, Pa. (WPVI) -- Taylor Swift fans in Delaware County lined up hours before the midnight release of the singer's newest album, "The Life of a Showgirl."

Swift's 12th studio album, with 12 songs on its track list, dropped at midnight. Fans lined up and got their tickets to be among their first to get their hands on physical copies, exclusive vinyl and CD editions, only available at Target.

The Action Cam stopped by the Target in Springfield, where more than two dozen fans eagerly waited to get their hands on a physical copy of the album.

"My Target team is huge Swifties, so we're excited to be able to celebrate with them," said store manager Meghan Anton.

The Springfield Target is one of nearly 500 target stores that stayed open past midnight to celebrate the launch.

"I love Taylor Swift. I collected all her CDs," said John Dempsey, from Newtown Square.

In August, Swift announced the release of her album on the New Heights Podcast hosted by Jason Kelce and her fiancé Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Their excitement was electric.

"What could be better than standing in line with your best Swiftie friends?" said Jeannie McCauley.

"I wanted to come out and get it in person so I could be the first one to have it," added Brooke Callahan of Folsom.

"I'm a stand in for my wife, who recently had our son," said Collin Allego, from Swarthmore.

"I'm so excited for the 1989 vibes she said we're going to get from it because that's my favorite album," said Sophie Rich, from Havertown.

And for fans who want even more, Swift's "Official Release Party of a Showgirl" hits theaters Friday.
