Man hospitalized after jumping through car windshield in Bridesburg

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A bizarre incident left a man lodged in a shattered car windshield in Philadelphia's Bridesburg neighborhood.

Witnesses say he leaped into the windshield of a car at Richmond and Luzerne streets around midnight Sunday.

Seconds prior, the man said to be in his late 40s to early 50s, was seen jumping in and out of traffic, causing several drivers to weave suddenly.

The man is in stable condition at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital.

Police are investigating why he jumped into traffic.

Two people in the car avoided being injured.
