Man sentenced for building bombs, plotting attacks in PA and NJ

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A 20-year-old Philadelphia man has been sentenced for plotting mass casualty attacks on multiple locations in the region.

Muhyyee-Ud-din Abdul-Rahman will spend to 20 to 40 months in prison.

The district attorney's office voiced their concern on Thursday that his sentencing is too short.

Abdul-Rahman was convicted in September for building and possessing explosives.

He was also found guilty of plotting to attack multiple targets, including the Philadelphia Pride Parade, a Black university, the Army-Navy Football game, the Valley Forge Military Academy, nuclear power plants in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as additional targets.

Abdul-Rahman was 17-years old when he was arrested in August 2023.
