Man wanted in deadly South Philadelphia shooting surrenders to police

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man wanted for homicide last year in South Philadelphia has surrendered to police.

Nasir Brooks turned himself in on Tuesday.

The shooting happened on October 9, 2025, just after 6 p.m. on the 1300 block of Packer Avenue near Broad Street.

Police say more than 20 shots were fired, with most of them hitting a car the victims were in.

Hasan Mason, 23, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the face and body. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A second 23-year-old man was wounded, and scrambled two blocks to Chickie's and Pete's for help.

Brooks' alleged accomplice Abou Keita was arrested in November.
