VOORHEES, New Jersey (WPVI) -- 30-year NICU nurse Meredith Murray has a gold heart and a green thumb.

The Marlton native became a nurse in 1993, moved to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in 1995, and says she has the "best job ever" at Virtua Voorhees Hospital.

Last year, a few colleagues asked Murray to consider beautifying their communal patio space, which had little to write home about.

With the help of the philanthropy team, fellow staff members, and generosity of local box stores, Murray got right to work.

The garden now beams with lush flowers, busy hummingbird feeders, patio furniture and more.

Watch the video above to see what the garden means to Murray and one local patient's family.
