"I'm so excited, I really hope they go all the way this year," said Giovanna Patrinicolla, of Audubon, NJ.
From the concourse to the team store, Phillies Nation is buzzing. Fans young and old have been stocking up on fresh gear, grabbing jerseys, hats, and souvenirs to show their pride.
"There's no other place I'd rather be," said Jake Kelly, of Raleigh, NC.
Fans are confident that this team has what it takes.
"I think the Phillies can go all the way. We have a great team, and I think they can do it. Even though we're playing the Dodgers, I think they can knock them off," said Alvin Bobb, of Mt. Airy.
At the ballpark, grounds crews carefully painted the postseason logo onto the field, preparing the stage for Red October's first pitch. Outside, fans from across the country poured into South Philly for the experience of a lifetime. For many, the journey is well worth it.
"My whole life I've been a Phillies fan, I've been a Philadelphia sports fan," said Lori Ross, of Bluffton, SC.
For others, this is part of a family tradition.
"Just having an opportunity to do this, these are lifelong memories, a lot of history," said Jamie Kelly, of Charlotte, NC.
The first pitch for Game 1 begins at 6:38 p.m.
