NTSB releases report on SEPTA train crash

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- The National Transportation Safety Board has released new details about a SEPTA train crash in Norristown that injured nine passengers and the operator.

Federal investigators say the SEPTA engineer was distracted just before the Norristown High Speed Line train he was operating crashed last May.

As a result, the NTSB says the automatic train control system was unable to detect the imminent collision and intervene.

The light rail car rammed into the bumper at the end of the track in Norristown.

Since the crash, the federal investigators say SEPTA has made changes to improve the emergency response.
