PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The City of Philadelphia broke ground on a major renovation project Wednesday at Russo Park in the Tacony neighborhood.
The $5 million construction project will modernize the site, and make it safer and more accessible for the community.
Officials say the effort was made possible through the City's Rebuild initiative.
Improvements at the park will include a new turf sports field, brighter lights, new basketball courts and a more efficient stormwater management system.
