Police sources confirm to Action News that the officer killed is 29-year-old Alhassane Barry.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police said they have identified the suspect wanted in connection with a double shooting that killed an off-duty police officer.
Investigators said Wednesday they are not releasing the suspect's identity because charges have not yet been filed. However, police said they have been in contact with the suspect's attorney.
Officer Alhassane Barry, 29, was shot and killed early Sunday morning outside an after-hours lounge on the 7200 block of Elmwood Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.
A 35-year-old man was also wounded in the shooting and was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police said surveillance video shows Barry, the second victim and the suspect involved in an argument inside the establishment before the confrontation moved outside.
"At some point, there's an assault and then a separation, then shots were fired by the one individual," said Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel.
Investigators said it remains unclear what sparked the altercation.
Barry was remembered by family members during his funeral Monday.
"My brother is a really friendly person. He's really sweet. He's a generous, giving person," said the officer's sister, Idiatou Barry. "We're very proud of him, very proud."
Family members said Barry dedicated his life to public service, first as a member of the military and later as an officer assigned to Philadelphia's 12th District.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
