Philadelphia Tribune marks Black History Month with event in Center City

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Tribune marked Black History Month with a celebration on Thursday.

The historic newspaper held an event at the Union League of Philadelphia in Center City.

Mayor Cherelle Parker was among the speakers.

The Tribune is the nation's oldest continuously published newspaper, reflecting the African American experience.

The theme this year was "A celebration of strength, Vision, and the Enduring Spirit of African Americans".
