'Philly Run Tribe': Five friends form fitness family in Philadelphia
It started with five friends meeting up for a run in the summer of 2024. Since then, 'Philly Run Tribe' has multiplied its membership beyond belief.

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- From five friends to a whole fitness family, 'Philly Run Tribe' often sees scores, if not over a hundred members hit the streets every week.

It began in the summer of 2024 as five friends sought to meet for a nighttime run.

Social media posts helped spread the word about their weekly routine. Soon enough, scores of people were showing up.

They move as a unit, treat each other like family, and take strides towards a common goal of health and wellness. So it's fitting they called themselves the 'Philly Run Tribe.'

Typically, they meet each Tuesday evening on Kelly Drive. However, with the FIFA Fan Festival taking place earlier this summer, they temporarily moved meetings to Penn Treaty Park.

They plan to return to Kelly Drive moving forward.
