Chopper 6 over reported road rage incident on I-95

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- What was initially reported as a shooting investigation on a southbound Interstate 95 ramp in Philadelphia turned out to be a possible road rage incident, authorities said.

It happened just before 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators focused on the I-95 southbound ramp from Aramingo Avenue in Fishtown, where they found a silver Ford Taurus with a flat tire, a smashed windshield and what appeared to be a bullet hole.

Officials confirmed that the damage on the vehicle had been present earlier in the day, when police previously came into contact with the car for an unrelated incident.

Authorities said the car may have been rammed by another vehicle during a road rage incident and that the other driver left the scene.

Aerial footage showed police speaking with a man in handcuffs at the scene before being patted down and placed in the back of a patrol car.

Police have not said whether anyone was arrested.

The ramps were closed during the investigation, and surrounding roads were also shut down, causing significant traffic delays in the area.
