Armed robbery at Family Dollar in Philadelphia's Lawndale section

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating reports of an armed robbery at a Family Dollar in Philadelphia's Lawndale section.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday along the 6400 block of Rising Sun Avenue.

Police say two armed men entered the store with handguns.

One was wearing all black with a white mask and a black handgun. The other was wearing a gray hoodie and black pants, with a silver handgun.

Police said the suspects ordered the employees and witnesses to the back of the store, where they were restrained.

One of the suspects then allegedly forced the manager to open a safe behind the registers.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken before the suspects fled the scene.

No injuries were reported.
