Philadelphia school board extends Superintendent Tony Watlington's contract until at least 2030

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The School District of Philadelphia is keeping the boss around for another five years.

The school board voted unanimously on Thursday to extend Superintendent Tony Watlington's contract until at least 2030.

The teachers' union also issued a letter of support.

Watlington has served as superintendent since 2022.
