PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating two sexual assault cases involving a student, and detectives believe the same individual is a suspect in both incidents.
One assault reportedly occurred during a social event at a residence hall, while the other happened at an off-campus location, authorities said.
"It's really scary, especially in a city school," sophomore Khushi Patel said.
"Unfortunately, it wasn't as shocking to me. We live in a time where we see this stuff every day," sophomore Mujtaba Jaffer told Action News.
Police identified the suspect on Wednesday. Temple University said the student has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.
The individual's name has not been released.
"As a former victim of this when I began here, this is just not enough change," Chikondi Rose said. "To not feel safe as a woman just going out, having fun, the predatorial energy, it's not enough. Like that email was great, but it doesn't make you feel safe enough."
While the student is suspended, they are banned from campus.
"In my undergrad, it happened to one of my close friends, and they were still able to just walk around campus. And it's terrible," said grad student Jadah Thompson. "I just hope that change starts happening, people get more aware of it."
