Trash fire leads to heavy smoke at former hospital in Upper Darby, Delaware County

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (WPVI) -- Firefighters responded to the site of the shuttered Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Upper Darby overnight on Tuesday.

A trash fire led to heavy smoke behind the building on Lansdowne Avenue just before midnight.

Crews did not report any injuries.

The hospital shut down in 2022.

The Upper Darby School District purchased the site last year.
