Trash truck catches fire on I-95 southbound in Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A garbage truck caught fire on I-95 South in Northeast Philadelphia on Friday.

It happened just north of the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge, near the Cottman Avenue exit.

Chopper 6 was overhead, where flames and heavy black smoke could be seen billowing from the vehicle.

At one point, all lanes were closed, but traffic is now getting by the scene.

Chopper 6 was overhead as a crane was used to remove the damaged truck.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
