Man reportedly shot while driving in Pleasantville

NORTHFIELD, N.J. (WPVI) -- Atlantic County authorities are investigating a shooting incident that left a man injured.

Police responded around 5:30 p.m. Sunday to a reported shooting at the intersection of Shore Road and Dolphin Avenue in Northfield, New Jersey.

A male driver said he was shot, police said, while driving on Main Street and Lake Place in Pleasantville.

The victim, who was shot in the chest, was trying to drive to the hospital when he crash in Northfield, police said.

He is being treated at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for serious injuries.

Police are checking the area of Lake Place and Lincoln Avenue in Pleasantville for a possible crime scene.

So far, no arrests have been made.
