1 dead, 1 injured in Salem County crash

MANNINGTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- One person was killed and another injured after a crash in Mannington Township, Salem County.

The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday at Hawks Bridge and Pointers Auburn roads.

Police say a driver lost control and struck a utility pole; the impact cut the car in half.

The vehicle came to a rest against a guardrail.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second person inside the vehicle was taken to Christiana Hospital in unknown condition.
