PHILADELPHIA -- The City of Elderly Love is a rescue operation that focuses on the older animal.
Samantha Jones is a Board Member and Erin Lewin is the President of City of Elderly Love.
"The senior animals are really the most vulnerable population...a lot of them come in they're not given too much time because of their age," said Samantha.
The City of Elderly Love was founded last year to give senior pets hope of finding someone to grow old with.
Samantha says, "Just because they're older doesn't mean they're any less deserving of wonderful home and a lot of them have a lot of years left to give to somebody."
The rescue finds homes for seniors, but also provides hospice care for animals like Rosie and Camille, whose health issues make them un-adoptable.
"While it's not a traditional rescue we still gave those animals the peaceful happy ending that they deserve rather than losing their lives in the shelter," said Erin.
With each adoption, The City of Elderly Love is proving that pets don't have to be young to make excellent companions.
"With age you have the calm demeanor, you don't have the puppy or kitten like energy that would come with a younger pet a lot of these pets are already trained you know they have plenty of commands under their belt," said Samantha.
You can adopt any of the animals from this report by going to the City of Elderly Love's website.
