NORTHERN LIBERTIES -- Two men are hospitalized after a gunman opened fire as they sat in a car in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia.
It happened at 10:45 p.m. Sunday as the pair was sitting in a parked car on 6th Street near Brandywine Street.
Police say a suspect walked up to the passenger side of the gray 2006 Ford Taurus and began firing.
A 28-year-old man was shot in the arm and buttocks, and a 23-year-old man was hit once in the thigh.
The victims were able to get out of the car and run into a nearby house.
The shooter kept firing into the door before running from the scene.
Both victims were taken to Hahnemann University Hospital in stable condition.
The gunman, described as a 28-year-old man known to police, was last seen running northbound on 6th Street toward Green Street.
Philadelphia Police Central Detectives is handling the investigation.
