Man shot 8 times in his doorway in Chester, Pa.

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating the death of a man shot eight times in his doorway.

It happened at 8 a.m. Friday in the 1200 block of West 9th Street.

Chester police tell Action News a man answered his front door and was greeted with a barrage of gunfire.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives are working to determine who shot the man and why.
