SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a 22-year-old man was shot in the head at point blank range in the Philadelphia's Point Breeze section early Tuesday morning.
The shooting happened at approximately 12:08 a.m. when the victim was on his front steps on the 1400 block of South 17th Street.
According to police, the gunman fired eight close range shots, striking the man in the head, jaw, and shoulder.
One bullet went inside the house and struck the chair where the victim's father was sitting.
He was not hurt.
The 22-year-old victim was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania by police and is listed in critical condition.
Police are searching for the gunman.
