THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- A search is underway in southern California for an exotic and dangerous snake that attacked a dog.
The dog owner says an albino monocled cobra attacked her dog Sunday in Thousand Oaks.
The dog is expected to be OK.
The dog's owner was able to take pictures of the white snake. Animal Control officials were sent to the neighborhood to search for the cobra, which is said to be venomous and very dangerous.
Residents were advised not to approach or handle the snake in any way.
The monocled cobra can be active at any time of day, but officials say it is most active during the morning or evening hours when it is cooler.
