SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Fire crews responded quickly to the scene of a fire at an old Sunoco refinery in South Philadelphia.
It happened around 5:45 p.m. Friday in the 3000 block of Penrose Avenue.
The refinery is now known as Philadelphia Energy Solutions Girard Point.
Plumes of black smoke was seen pouring into the air.
The refinery has its own firefighters who were able to tackle the blaze however the Philadelphia Fire Department was called in as a precaution.
The fire was brought under control around 6:30 p.m.
There were no injuries were reported.
No word on a cause.
