NEW ORLEANS -- After three-plus quarters of offensive frustration, running back Saquon Barkley broke loose to get thePhiladelphia Eagleson the board.
Trailing 3-0 to the New Orleans Saints early in the fourth quarter, Barkley took a handoff up the middle on second-and-5, cut to the left to daylight and outraced Saints defenders for a 65-yard score to put Philadelphia on top. It was the fifth-longest rushing touchdown of Barkley's career.
Barkley took responsibility for his drop near the goal line late in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons that led to a loss.
He has otherwise been a force for the Eagles since singing a lucrative contract with Philadelphia this offseason. He entered the day with 248 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns.
