PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia jewelry dealer is being accused of buying stolen items and failing to report the transactions to authorities.

Meir Cohen, 48, of the 2100 block of Berwyn Street, was arrested on March 20th during a raid at the Cash 4 Gold store in the 3500 block of Aramingo Avenue.

He is charged with tampering with records and other license violations.

Meir Cohen, 48, of the 2100 block of Berwyn Street, was arrested on March 20th during a raid at the Cash 4 Gold store in the 3500 block of Aramingo Avenue.

Police say Cohen bought jewelry stolen from a home in the 2500 block of Auburn Street on March 7th without asking for identification from or fingerprinting the seller.

They say Cohen later bought a bracelet from an undercover detective without fingerprinting him or adequately recording the transaction.

When investigators raided Cohen's shop on March 20th, they recovered a number of additional items believed to be stolen.

Philadelphia Police released pictures of those items Tuesday.

They are asking anyone who recognizes the items to contact Philadelphia Police Officer Strange (#5598) at 215-685-9962 or 215-686-3243.
