American Airlines flight blows tires landing at Chicago O'Hare airport

An American Airlines flight blew two tires landing at Chicago O'Hare International Airport Monday afternoon, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

American Airlines Flight 386 landed safely around 2 p.m. The plane came from New York's LaGuardia Airport, the FAA said.

Passengers were able to get off the plane using stairs, the FAA said.

Several fire trucks and police cars could be seen surrounding an American Airlines plane.

Buses were seen near the plane to take passengers to the terminal.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured.

The aircraft has been taken out of service to be inspected by American, the airline said.

"We thank our team members for their professionalism and we apologize to our customers for their experience," the airline said.

Delays at O'Hare at the time were less than 15 minutes.

This is at least the second time in two weeks that tires on a plane at O'Hare have blown out.

The FAA will investigate.
