Girl, 16, wounded in Summerdale shooting

SUMMERDALE (WPVI) -- A 16-year-old girl is recovering after being shot in Philadelphia's Summerdale section.

It happened around 9:25 p.m. Monday along the 800 block of Sanger Street.

The girl was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children for treatment of abrasions to both knees and a graze wound to her ear.

The girl is expected to recover from her injuries.

There is no word on a suspect.
