Police: Triple shooting leaves 1 man dead in Philadelphia's Germantown section

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating an afternoon triple shooting that left one man dead and two injured in Philadelphia's Germantown section.

The shooting happened just after 2:30 p.m. Sunday on the 5000 block of Germantown Avenue nearby a mosque.

In exclusive surveillance video obtained by Action News, one man can be seen on the ground and is then approached by someone. The victim was shot in the head.

Police say the three victims were all taken to Temple University Hospital by private vehicles.

A 24-year-old man who was shot in the head died from his injuries.

A 24-year-old man was shot in the hip; he is listed in critical but stable condition.

A 25-year-old man was shot in the backside and his leg; he is listed in stable condition.

Police are investigating a triple shooting that left one man dead and two injured in Philadelphia's Germantown section.

"Initial reaction was that Sunday is one of the busiest days for us," said Imam Hassan Abdi of Germantown Masjid. "We have hundreds of attendees of our mosque in the area, so possibly it could have been a woman or a child."

The surveillance video shows a child skipping in the area moments before the shots were fired.

Abdi says he and other good Samaritans rushed to the scene and helped load the victims into private cars.

"It was a human being, and they were lying on the floor, so we tried to give them the help that we were able to give them and trying to get them to the hospital the quickest and shortest time possible," said Abdi.

There has been no motive released for the shooting at this time.

So far, no arrests have been made.

Deadly Kensington Shooting

The deadly violence continued Sunday night.

Police were called around 11:15 p.m. to the 3100 block of Ella Street in the Kensington section of the city.

A man in his 40s was shot in the chest.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A stun gun and knife were recovered at the scene.

There's no word on the suspect or motive.
