NEW YORK -- Safety concerns are causing Amazon to stop selling one of this year's hottest holiday toys.

The online retailer has removed Swagway hoverboards from its website.

The move comes after several fires linked to the devices, including a fire at a house in Chappaqua.

Swagway says Amazon told them the company is pulling the boards pending a safety review of the product.

There have been other fires across the country caused by self-balancing scooters.

Officials say the size and strength of the gadget's lithim battery could be a cause of the sudden fires.

One of this season's hottest holiday gifts is now raising serious safety concerns for retailers and the federal government.
