Police say one passenger is dead and the driver is being tested for DUI after a crash in Philadelphia's Tacony section early Wednesday morning.

TACONY -- Police say one passenger is dead and the driver is being tested for DUI after a crash in Philadelphia's Tacony section early Wednesday morning.



The accident happened at 1:35 a.m. along the 7300 block of Milnor Street.



Police say a 2003 GMC Envoy was passing another vehicle at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control.



The Envoy crashed into a set of concrete stairs of an old factory.



The 22-year-old front seat passenger was pronounced dead on the scene.



The other two occupants were injured. The driver suffered minor bumps and bruises, while the rear seat passenger suffered several broken bones to his left arm, left leg and pelvis.



Police say charges are pending upon further investigation.
