Target facing online backlash for selling 'Trophy' t-shirt

One little word on a t-shirt in Target's junior section is causing quite the controversy.

Women have been taking to social media calling the shirt with simply reads "TROPHY" sexist and demeaning.

Many are asking the retail giant who approved the design and under what circumstances should any human being wear a T-shirt that indicates that they are a "trophy?"

In some cases it hangs in the juniors department next to a crop top which reads: "This is my backstage pass."

A Change.org petition has been started asking for the store to stop selling it, saying that it suggests women are still viewed as things.

Target has been responding to people on social media apologizing if the item offends anyone.
