BELLA VISTA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating two shootings near South Street that injured three teenagers.
The first shooting occurred around 1:15 a.m. Sunday on the 800 block of South Street in Bella Vista.
Police say two boys, ages 16 and 17, were walking on the 800 block of South Street.
They told police a group of young men started arguing and that one of them pulled a gun and started shooting.
Both teens were struck in the leg.
They were taken to Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition.
While police were investigating the shooting, gunfire erupted around 2:50 a.m. a block away at 8th and Bainbridge streets.
Police found a 19-year-old man lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the leg.
He was also taken to Jefferson in stable condition.
The bullets were flying many teenagers and adults packed South Street for a night out on the town.
Some nearby residents avoid the area on Saturday nights, but, most say they feel generally safe here.
"It's kind of a tragedy. I hope it's a one-time thing but it's not anything that I'm horribly worried about," said Mike Lenneville.
"People usually say that that type of thing is done between people who know each other. So I don't feel that it means that I'm suddenly in a dangerous area," said Emily Lenneville.
Police say the shootings may be related to bad blood carried over from a previous incident in a different neighborhood.
So fat, no word on any suspects.
