Atlantic City rail line suspension extended to April. Gray Hall reports during Action News at 6 a.m. on January 26, 2019.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- The Atlantic City rail line will be shut down longer than first anticipated.

NJ Transit says it will extend the closure until at least April.

The line provides service between Philadelphia and Atlantic City.

It was suspended in September in order to install federally-mandated emergency braking systems.

However, NJ Transit says engineer shortage and equipment availability has caused delays.
