Driver hospitalized in garbage truck fire in Newark, Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- Delaware officials are investigating a truck fire that sent one person to the hospital.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Friday in the southbound lanes of I-95 near Route 273 in Newark.

Police said the incident involved a City of Newark garbage truck.

The driver was taken to Christiana Hospital. His condition is unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.
