UPPER DARBY, Pa. (WPVI) -- Authorities say an Upper Darby police officer opened fire on a suspect who allegedly tried to run her down with his car.
Police say it happened during an undercover drug buy Friday evening in the vicinity of 69th and Walnut streets.
In an attempt to flee the scene the suspect allegedly ran up on the sidewalk and slammed into the side of a building.
He then backed up, and attempted to run over one of the undercover officers.
Police say the officer then fired one shot at the suspect.
The suspect's vehicle then mowed down a light standard and several parking meters before coming to rest on the sidewalk.
The lone suspect is now in police custody.
No one was seriously injured.
Police say they found a semi-automatic handgun, heroin, crack cocaine and a large amount of cash in the suspect's vehicle.
