Driver killed in single-car crash in Lehigh Valley

ALLEN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WPVI) -- A driver is dead after losing control behind the wheel, and slamming into a utility pole in Allen Township, Northampton County.

The crash happened along Weaversville Road near Drexel Drive, around 10:30 p.m. Friday night.

Investigators say the driver lost control and ran off the road.

The car slammed into the pole and overturned several times before coming to rest in a cornfield.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

No word on the victim's identity or the cause of the crash.
