'The Wishing Place' opens for kids with critical illnesses

BALA CYNWYD, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- 'The Wishing Place' is a brand-new facility where local kids with critical illnesses can find a spark of magic during their Make-A-Wish journey.

It is located within the Bala Cynwyd headquarters for Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Delaware, & Susquehanna Valley.

Officially dubbed the Vince & Lynne Laino Wishing Place, the facility features several rooms designed specifically for kids. There is a LEGO room, a treehouse room, and a fountain in which kids can toss their wishing coins.

The whimsical setting is meant to bring joy and inspiration during the process of discovering what kind of wish a child wants to make.

9-year-old Karina Willis, a Make-A-Wish alum, was recently invited to tour the facility and speak on behalf of the foundation.

Her wish to become a YouTube content creator was granted with camera equipment, microphones, a computer, and much more.

Now, she creates videos on her channel called, 'Karina Cooks, Crafts and Explores!'
