Police investigate Wawa robbery in West Mount Airy

MOUNT AIRY -- Police are investigating a robbery at a Wawa store in Philadelphia's West Mount Airy section early Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. at 7236 Germantown Avenue and Allens Lane.

According to police, the suspect told an employee he had a gun but no gun was actually seen.

The suspect then made off with an unknown amount of cash and fled the store.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Police are going over surveillance video for information.
