Knife-wielding man robs NE Philadelphia Wawa

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A knife-wielding man robbed a Wawa store in Northeast Philadelphia early Monday morning.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 10000 block of Knights Road.

Police say a man, approximately 35 years of age, walked up to the counter to pay for a candy bar. When the clerk opened the registered the suspect presented a knife and demanded all the money in the register.

The robber took the money and fled the scene on foot.

The clerk was not injured.
